Kannawidan Ylocos: One Sure, One Ilocos Sur

 

Kannawidan is celebrated during the first week of february. It is a variant of the ilocano word “tawid” which means heritage of inheritance. It is a festival commemorating the two ilocos provinces in 1818. People from Ilocos Sur celebrates this festival to show the indigenous performances, traditions from different municipalites, religous rituals, and the cooking demos featuring the best ilocano dishes. 

Many municipalities joins and anticipate in this festival to show and represent their town. Kannawidan is also the way to show the pride of this province. The talents and works of every Ilocanos is represented here. It is where Ilocanos collide and unite and to show their love for this province.
